Yeah, it’s true that things change when we define them differently. I love the definition of marketing, which you introduced in this post.

I am learning marketing. And I feel a bit lost when seeing the terms like “make sales”, “money”, “earn a lot of money”, “earn money fast”, “marketing causes these severe consequences”,…Like, I don’t hate those terms but I really want something else, something else that marketing can bring to its customers. Something more meaningful, other than financial rewards and bad consequences.

You just let me know that marketers and marketing HELP customers, bring VALUES to them, HELP them achieve want they really want and need.

That’s a beautiful intention Patricia. It’s always a balance of addressing the acknowledged need that people have as well as the deeper need and sometimes even pointing the finger to needs that people didn’t know they had. The most powerful messaging works at all these levels…. the instant gratification as well as the more transformational.
