Darkness tells our brain, “It’s time to rest.”
That’s why our ancient ancestors went to sleep when the sun went down.
Bedtime at sunset? It may seem unthinkable these days. But here’s the thing…
Whether we’re fighting to survive in a world of scary predators… or just trying to get through our to-do list in one piece…. our body — and brain — need deep sleep so we can stay focused and energized throughout the day.
The good news is that you don’t have to be in bed as soon as it gets dark for that to happen…
Just add something called a “digital sunset” into your daily, evening routine.
All digital devices give out blue light which is like espresso for your brain.
Going screen-free — no smartphones, computers, tablets or TV — at least 20 to 30 minutes before bedtime will help get you into “sleep mode” for a deep, restful sleep.
It’s a simple, effective practice you can do today to pave the way for a productive, successful tomorrow.
How can you include a digital sunset into your evening routine?
